It is the end of January and the Czech Republic is covered with a layer of snow. On Saturday, January 29, Olivia (Ireland) and I decided to take a walk to Ivanské jezero, a small lake with an island in the middle. From our house the distance was 3.7 km and the walk took an hour, it snowed all the way. On our way back we drank a well-deserved cup of coffee at the Sultan cafe.
The next day we were invited to visit Adršpašské skály, 66 km away from rychnov nad kněžnou. The Adršpach-Teplice rocks are the largest and wildest rock town in Central Europe, but because of the snow we only hiked the path around the lake. I hope to visit again in the summer when all the trees and plants will be in full bloom. -Demi
