Witches’ day is a Czech tradition that happens yearly. It is also called pálení čarodějnic, or “burning witches”, where people come together and gather around improvised bonfires to burn a 'witch'.
For this day we organised an activities day at the local park where we held game stations for kids. Each child had to complete 8-10 activities on the worksheet they had (all witch/wizard related) and at the end they received a gift. Everyone from children to adults were dressed as witches or wizards for the tradition.
Another volunteer (Demi) and I made an improvised ‘witch’ from recycled materials, which was burned ‘at the stake’ that day. Enjoy some photos of the day, below.
